Carbon Neutral Company

Since 2020, Helsinn has proudly maintained its status as a Carbon Neutral Company. In 2024, we achieved this milestone for the fifth consecutive year, expanding our offsetting efforts to include emissions from major corporate events – a first in our journey.

Transparent emissions tracking

We measure our carbon footprint across all scopes:

• Scope 1: Direct emissions (e.g., fuel combustion, industrial processes)
• Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy
• Scope 3: Indirect emissions across the value chain (e.g., suppliers, logistics, travel, investments)

Offsetting with impact

To neutralize residual emissions, we invested in Gold Standard-certified carbon credits, supporting impactful projects in Ethiopia and Burundi.

A clear Decarbonization Plan

We developed our first Group-wide Decarbonization Plan, officially submitted to the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (UFE) in 2025.

This roadmap outlines:
